Our Mission
In one sense, all true churches have the same mission. What a mission statement does is help us organize and communicate that shared mission in a clear way, and sometimes highlights a church’s particular strengths and focuses. We describe our mission as unified striving to grow more faithful in three different relationships: our relationship to God, our relationship to one another, and our relationship to the world.
1. Our Relationship to God
We exist to glorify and enjoy the One who created and redeemed us through Jesus Christ. Worship is central to all we do. We believe that all other relationships and activities should be consciously governed by our desire to know and glorify God the Father, God the Son, & God the Holy Spirit.
(Ephesians 1:5–6, 11–14; 3:21)
2. Our Relationship to One Another
We seek to build up the body of Christ through sound teaching, discipleship, and training up future leaders. We are not meant to live the Christian life alone, and so we want to continually strengthen our friendships in Christ so that we might better serve God, each other, and the world.
(Ephesians 4:11–16; 5:25–27; 2 Peter 3:18)
3. Our Relationship to the World
We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission—proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ with clarity, conviction, and compassion. As a church we want to be active in personal evangelism among family and friends, evangelistic outreach to the community, and mercy ministry as a reflection of the grace we have received from Jesus. (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8)
